There is a hypothesis, attributable to Parish, that states, for optimum washing, the units of a multistage continuous fabric washer should be identical. So far, a proof has been available only for the simplest of multistage washers, i.e. two‐tank individual flow and counterflow washers. In this article a general proof is given for all multistage washers.
