At a high‐level conference organised by the DTI in Manchester on 25 October, representatives from the textile industry outlined their strategies for material success in the 90s. The conference was organised to highlight intensifying competition within the textile machinery sector as the pace of technological and commercial change quickens and new competitors develop in the Third World and Eastern Europe.
