The effect of subsequent heating on formaldehyde release from DMDHEU‐finished fabric has been examined. Formaldehyde release was higher at higher heating temperatures, but fabrics cured at higher temperatures showed less released formaldehyde. Adding urea reduced formaldehyde release.
