As a part of a study on the mechanism of dye diffusion into fibres, the temperature dependence of the diffusion coefficient of some disperse dyes into nylon 6 film was studied above and below the glass‐transition temperature, using mixed solvents as dyeing media. From the experimental results, the contributions of the pore model diffusion and the free‐volume diffusion to overall diffusion are discussed.
