Radio‐frequency (r.f.) heating has been used to achieve the fixation of acid dyes on nylon fibres. This permitted rapid heating to the fixation temperature, and some enhancement in the degree of dye penetration was observed. Success was also obtained in fixing disperse dyes on polyester and reactive dyes on cotton using r. f. techniques. The experiments clearly demonstrate that r.f. heating offers a versatile method for enhancing dye fixation.
