Thermodynamic data which have been obtained from the measured equilibrium isotherms for the adsorption of the sodium salts of 1–amino–4–alkylaminoanthraquinone–2–sulphonic acid on wool fibres at different temperatures in the range 40–80°C indicate that hydrophobic interactions are present in the dye–fibre adsorption process.
