Liquid brands of azoic coupling components are concentrated solutions of the monoalkaline salts of aromatic oxycarboxylic acid arylamides in alcohols. Solvents that are particularly suitable are ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol. There are two different types of liquid brands of azoic diazo components: solutions and dispersions. Solutions consist of the Fast Base (an arylamine), the solvent and a surfactant. This form is especially suitable for low‐melting‐point amines. For those with a higher melting point the dispersion form is more suitable, with ethylene oxide adducts being used as dispersing agents, which also act as surfactants during dyeing. The particular value of these liquid grades is that, besides making metering easier, they considerably reduce the time taken for the preparation of the impregnation liquors and particularly for diazotisation.
