Developments have been divided into four categories, namelyi. random printing of webs ii. regular printing of warps including non‐aqueous methods iii. knit‐deknit iv. yarn package impregnation.The emphasis is on nylon, although the ability to colour other carpet fibres by space dyeing techniques is discussed. Finally, space dyeing as an industry is reviewed and the reasons for the slowing of its rate of growth during this decade is outlined.
