The replacement of existing dyes in a series of recipes may involve a tedious series of visual matchings for each colour. On the other hand, the process can be greatly speeded up by the use of electronic computer equipment. This paper describes a mathematically simple and reliable method, involving no sophisticated equipment, which allows the replacement of individual dyes in a series of colours dyed with levelling acid dyes on wool.
