Dacron 84, a modified basic‐dyeable polyester fibre, can be dyed satisfactorily only with a limited range of basic and disperse dyes. A dye‐screening procedure is described, and a dye selection is given. Various carriers have been assessed. The costs of different dyeing processes are compared. The dyeing of Dacron 84‐wool blends is described, and the effect of processing on the properties of the cloth is mentioned.
