The engineering features of the Vaporloc open‐width pressure reaction chamber are described. Its use in the scouring and bleaching of cotton, cotton‐polynosic, polyester‐cotton and polyester‐polynosic blends is discussed on the basis of two years' operational experience. The processes, at present under development, in which the use of the reaction chamber may be advantageous are described.
