After a short historical introduction the standard method for the development of the Remazol dyes by the flash‐ageing process is described. Recipes for the print paste are given, and the print paste stability and the function of the thickenings are discussed. Development of the prints is described with regard to practical bulk experience, with emphasis on the padding liquor and padding equipment, steaming time, and washing‐out properties. The effect of variations in the conditions of fixation (temperature, fixation time, squeezing effect, and composition of the padding liquor) on the practical results is discussed. A simple process for the sampling of Remazol prints to be developed by flash‐ageing is described and, finally, further processes effecting rapid fixation are summarised.
