Ten specimens exposed against the light–fastness standards have been assessed by 72 observers by the method described in B. S. 1006: 1055. The results are expressed in conventional statistical terms, and their significance is discussed. The most important factor affecting the agreement among assessors was off–tone fading, –which caused a considerable reduction in agreement. The amount of experience the assessor possessed was generally quite unimportant.
