The watering of secondary cellulose acetate taffetas and poults in jigger processing is shown to occur during the first wetting–out run. The phenomena observed are related to the properties of the fabric and the physics of the roll. Practical methods of producing fabrics free from watering are discussed, and one, entailing a slight modification of normal jigger processing, is recommended.
