Early methods of dyeing Acrilan–wool blends in solid, shades are outlined and the limitations stated. A new method is described which is applicable to all classes of wool dyes. Data are presented to show how the concentration of sulphuric acid and of a cation‐active dyeing assistant may be varied to control the relative dyeing rates of wool and of Acrilan and the migration of dye from wool to the Aerilan acrylic fibre to produce solid shades.
