Reduced swelling produced by the steaming of fibres has been investigated for its stability. Samples of steamed fibres have boon given hot dilute‐acid and alkaline treatments. The reduced swelling of steamed viscose and cuprammonium fibres was found to bo reasonably stable to the treatments given to them.
