The evolution of sulphur dyes is briefly reviewed, and the dyeing of loose cotton and sliver outlined. Yarn dyeing is described under the headings of hank, warp, and package dyeing, and the aftertreatment of sulphur dyeings is discussed. Finally, the application of water‐soluble types of sulphur dyes is described.
