This paper discusses techniques for the acquisition of digital topographic data and the automation of cartographic processes for map production used by the Surveys and Mapping Branch, Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, Canada. Résumé Ce texte présente une discussion sur les techniques utilisées au Service géographique fédéral Canadien dans le domaine de la saisie des données topographiques numériques et de l'automatisation des procédés cartographiques pour la production des cartes. Zusammenfassung Im Artikel werden die Verfahren zur Gewinnung digitaler topographischer Daten und die Automation kartographischer Prozesse zur Kartenherstellung in Kanada diskutiert.
