This paper sets out the problem of the least‐square adjustment of a block of aerial triangulation by simultaneous solution of the normal equations and goes on to discuss two possible methods of solving the normal equations by an iterative process. In conclusion the article examines the advantages of an approximate iterative solution based on the peculiar regularity of an aerial triangulation.
