The author describes a new stereo‐plotter, the Kern PG 2, and gives a detailed explanation of the photogrammetric principles involved. The instrument depends on a unique selection of the five degrees of freedom required for the relative orientation. The mechanical construction is described with the aid of numerous illustrations and the author finally lists the practical procedures for setting the inner orientation and for accomplishing the relative orientation, absolute orientation and bridging.
