The theory of errors, so widely used in photogrammetric work, is based on the mathematics of statistics. Two statistical theorems, the central limit theorem and the arc sine law theorem, are briefly discussed and the lessons which may be drawn from them are found to be highly applicable to photogrammetric operations.
