Geodetic adjustments owe their efficiency to the many rigorous conditions which have to be satisfied. At present these conditions are not available in aerial triangulations. They can be introduced into aerial triangulation, but only at the expense of much higher costs in all stages of the work. Their introduction seems to depend on the use of transverse tie‐strips, or deep lateral overlap in the main strips of the air survey block. The conditions are stated here in terms of the entities which appear in analytical aerial triangulations.
