• to help countries assess their experiences and progress in implementing relevant IPF/IFF proposals, catalyze discussion among government agencies and other stakeholders in the process of preparing the report, and help countries prepare their interventions for UNFF 4 • to provide input to Secretary-General’s reports for UNFF 4, enabling the reports to identify key issues for discussion in UNFF 4 and to highlight possible subsequent international action; • to furnish important information for the review of the effectiveness of the international arrangement on forests.
