. The survey results presented in this article and based on a sample of 616 Norwegians from 12 to 16 years old focus upon adolescents’attitudes towards the political system and the partisan/ideological dimensions of their political universe. A unique model of political socialization is revealed, the components of which determine a national consensus embracing community symbols and the totality of basic political and representative institutions, a ‘passive’political and ideological affiliation and a structuring social cleavage, all of which derive from Norwegian history.
