A method of evaluating the pore‐size distribution of pottery is described and results obtained from a number of samples ranging from Neolithic to modern pottery shown graphically. The method may serve to distinguish between similar‐looking sherds if no other means of identification exists, but further work is needed before a series of determining curves can be established.
