This paper introduces a model for analysing costs within a teleworking organization. The approach can be seen as a modified transaction cost approach which considers the opportunity costs of activities. The aim of this approach is to simplify the understanding of the forces behind teleworking with special emphasis on service organizations. Empirical references to teleworking situations in Sweden are given.
