A statistical model for deriving the stress–life from the strain–life curves is presented. In this way, the fatigue characteristics are obtained not only for the high‐ but also for the low‐cycle fatigue domains. The model reproduces the experimentally observed incurvation in the low‐cycle fatigue region. The proposed method is finally illustrated by its application to a real data case.
