The minimum normalised light intensity I n is introduced as a reliable characteristic parameter, in three dimensional photoelasticity, whose measurement is rather comfortable. Spectral, stress components, angle of divergence of the stress components, and material dependence of I n is investigated. Limits of a cited method are pointed out. Some misunderstandings that took place in Ref. (1) are highlighted. The basic concepts of two methods in integrated photoelasticity are compared.
