Eleventh annual conference

With memories of the previous and very successful Scottish Region's conference at Strathclyde University still reasonably fresh in mind, I naturally wondered whether history would repeat itself this year in Edinburgh. The additional complexities of running a joint conference, the problems connected with the use of a brand–new site and the choice of a subject which, although very appropriate to the times and the place, was not perhaps one in which the bulk of our membership was involved, all gave grounds for slight apprehension.
