The value of Young's modulus of a 0–216 mm (0–0085 in) thick sheet of weldable titanium alloy (13% V, 11% Cr, 3% A1) was measured at room temperature by three different methods simultaneously. The results and their analysis give insight into the merits of strain measuring standards at present available at FFA and of the specialised strain measuring methods used at FFA and already described (Ref. 1).
