A copy of ‘A New Dictionary of Birds’ was sent to H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh, as Patron of the B.O.U. Centenary Celebrations in relation to which the enterprise was undertaken. Prince Philip was delighted to receive the book and sent his congratulations to its editor, also asking that his thanks should be expressed—as is hereby done—to the contributors.
