Summary.1  Pinkfeet were seen in fair numbers in the area north of the Hofsjokull in June and July 1952. 2  It is unlikely that any of these nested, probably because of the snow at the end of May and the coldness of June. 3  It is suggested that this area north of Hofsjokull is in the process of being colonised. 4  Many geese moved north‐west at the end of June and beginning of July. This is a movement just prior to the moult and involves desertion of the normal habitats of Iceland. It is more likely that the birds flew to Greenland rather than to the north of Iceland.
