The distribution of Mo 99 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Candida krusei grown in the presence of sodium molybdate has been examined by physical fractionation methods. The major fraction of molybdenum was bound to the cell wall; however, 48% of bound molybdenum penetrated the cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. In Candida krusei cells, no intra‐cytoplasmic molybdenum was detected.
