Comparative evaluation of the Oxoid Salmonella Rapid Test with three other rapid salmonella methods

The efficacy of four commercially available rapid salmonella detection kits and two conventional methods was determined with naturally contaminated or spiked food samples. Compared with the Bacteriological Analytical Manual procedure the order of decreasing performance of the kits was Oxoid Salmonella Rapid Test, TECRA ELISA, EQUATE ELISA and BioControl 1–2 test.
