Thirty‐five tropical fish and fishery products were tested for the presence of listeria. Listeria innocua was detected in three of 10 fresh samples and five of 14 frozen samples. No listeria were detected in dried, salted fish. Listeria monocytogenes was not detected in any of the samples tested.
