Bullfrog spinal ganglia were subjected to two types of examination to determine whether catecholamines were present. A biochemical microassay developed by Kissinger and co‐workers and a histofluorescence technique for cellular demonstration of biogenic monoamines developed earlier by Falck and co‐workers were used. Bullfrog spinal ganglia and dorsal roots were found to contain catecholamines, primarily adrenaline.
