— –A method is described by which inorganic phosphate may be extracted from brain when bone fragments are present. Inorganic phosphate is extracted into 80% methanol and this does not hydrolyse phosphate esters of brain or dissolve bone. The inorganic phosphate content of brain was 217 μmol/g in both fed and 24 h starved rats.
