— The optic ganglia, cerebral ganglia and mantle nerve of the squid Dosidicus gigas were examined for possible amines. Histamine was detected in all three tissues. The optic ganglia were also found to contain 5‐HT and N ‐acetylhistamine, an infrequently found derivative of histamine.
