Summary. The distributions of standardized birthweights of babies born to women of given heights married to short and tall husbands were compared. The standardized birthweights were consistently greater for babies born to women with tall husbands. It is concluded that tall parental stature relates to favourable environmental and genetic components among those influencing birthweight.
