Summary By studying the HLA system, evidence of immunization by paternal antigens inherited by the antecedent child has been obtained in primiparous patients who subsequently developed choriocarcinoma. The same approach has been used to show which pregnancy was likely to be causal in two patients with complicated obstetric histories.
