Summary Eighty‐two patients were studied using four different dose schedules of intraamniotic prostaglandin F 2α and E 2 . The most successful results were obtained in 32 patients receiving two injections of 10 mg. of prostaglandin E 2 at a six‐hour interval; 31 aborted within 24 hours with a mean time of 12.6 hours; an acceptable level of side effects was observed. The addition of an infusion of oxytocin did not significantly affect the result. These results represent an improvement over previously published data using intra‐amniotic prostaglandin E 2 alone.
