Summary Twelve mothers were given orally 1.0 mg. of dexamethasone four times daily for 6 to 12 days during the last trimester of pregnancy. Serial serum human placental lactogen (HPL) determinations were made by radioimmunoassay before and during the treatment. Dexamethasone did not change the HPL level.
