Summary The pathology, behavioural pattern and malignancy of 35 mixed Müllerian tumours of the corpus uteri are reviewed. Patients with this tumour had a five‐year survival of 23 per cent. Late recurrence and metastases were unusual and the mortality from the tumour tended to be non‐progressive. The most important prognostic factor was the extent of tumour spread at the time of diagnosis. Separation into carcinosarcoma and mixed mesodermal tumour conferred no clinical advantage and the presence of heterotopic tissue was of no prognostic significance.
