Summary Anterior pituitary function was tested in patients with endometrial carcinoma and was compared with results from suitable controls. HGH, TSH and LH have been measured directly and ACTH indirectly. The only statistically significant difference was that LH secretion was diminished in the Carcinoma Group. The significance of this finding is discussed and related to the clinical and carbohydrate status of the same patients. A new theory of the aetiology of endometrial carcinoma is proposed.
