Summary Serial plasma oestriol estimations were made in five hypertensive patients. A significant negative correlation was demonstrated between the percentage change in diastolic blood pressure and the change in plasma oestriol concentration. It is suggested that antihypertensive therapy leads to improved feto‐placental function.
