Summary The plasma concentration of oestradiol‐l7β and of progesterone was assayed using radioimmunoassay and protein binding methods throughout the menstrual cycle in ten young women. Eight women had normal ovulatory cycles but two were found to be non‐ovulatory. The values from the eight normal cycles are put forward as criteria for the evaluation of assay results in the investigation and treatment of menstrual disorders.
