Summary A twelve months follow up of 100 consecutive cases of urgency incontinence was made. Eighty patients were still continent at the end of one year but half of them had some residual urgency of micturition. In a seris of 556 cases of incontinence, the incidence of urgency incontinence was 30 per cent. The diagnosis and clinical relevance of the disorder is discussed and the value of the Foley catheter test in differentiation one type of incontinence from another is emphasized.
