Summary A fatal case of puerperal cardiomyopathy in a 28‐year‐old woman is described. Congestive cardiac failure with episodes of collapse and hypotension developed about a month after confinement. Acute renal tubular necrosis supervened, necessitating dialysis, and the patient died after a brief illness. Necropsy revealed granulomatous and eosinophilic myocarditis. The aetiology of the lesion was not established but there are grounds for suspecting that it was due to hypersensitivity to sulphamethoxypyridazine.
