Summary A rapid radioimmunoassay for human chorionic somatomammotrophin has been developed which permits an individual plasma determination to be completed in one hour. It is based on the use of high concentrations of antibody and labelled hormone, which ensures equilibration within 15–20 minutes and eliminates the need for a preliminary plasma dilution step. Antibody‐bound and free peptide are separated in less than 10 minutes by the addition of two volumes of ethanol.
