Summary A survey was made of families of children suffering from congenital adrenal hyperplasia. The length of gestation for these children was found to be within normal limits. The implications of this are discussed in relation to current theories of the cause of the onset of labour. One case was diagnosed in utero by estimation of steroids in amniotic fluid.
